This is my first project tutorial, so be patient, any suggestions are always welcome:
materials:
empty bleach bottle, cleaned and dried well
Permanent ink marker, if you use a washable one it may not stay on long enough for you to do your cutting.
Craft Scissors, electric knife, any sort of crafting knife, But please be careful while cutting - take your time - and if it's not perfect, don't worry I'll show you how to fix that to.
About 3-4 feet of aquarium clear tubing. Any size you want, it doesn't matter as long as it's large enough to cut a slit across one side to set on raw edges on bottle.
Glue - now here you will need glue for vinyl, plastic Almost all glue companies will have different glue for different functions. The Name Brand really does not matter.
You may choose whatever size bottle you prefer. The only thing that it will effect is the exact location of cutting lines.
First, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!! Wash and dry bottle very well. If you do not it could ruin some very precious threads.
Next you will remove the label. The only reason why mine isn't is that it still has bleach in it, I have to wait to use this one.
It may seem a little tricky - but is not. On the solid - smooth side simply use a ruler, measuring tape, etc. { now it may help if someone holds the bottle and gently turns the bottle.} I used a bright, permanent marker and measured from the table up to get a good even line.
The line you measure near the handle is almost eye-measured. On this bottle there is a "mold" in the plastic, so I used that to measure. I did have to adjust my line a couple of times, but the ink wasn't dry yet and wiped off easily to adjust.
When you mark and cut for the handle area you want to make sure your cut leaves a good sturdy piece of the handle left. You'll notice on the bottom half I went up high on the handle so I will have a nice sturdy piece of handle left. The top line I cut was as close to leave a slight curve, but not extreme curve. This way when the yarn is in the bottle and you run the thread up through the handle so it will have enough tug to keep it from tangling back on it's self, but will pull up through the handle for a smooth flow on your yarn.
